The SSCE Remedial with UTME Programme of the College is a SPECIAL Programme only for the students with deficiencies in their O-Levels. The programme shall generally last for ten (10) months, which shall be divided into two semesters. During this period, students are exposed to intensive lectures on their deficient subjects from Mondays to Thursdays every week and a weekly CA test/Practical work on Fridays.

This category of students after remedying their deficiencies may be placed for admission into the other programmes of the College or any other Tertiary Institution within the State such as:

• Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic, Sokoto
• Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto
• College of Nursing and Midwifery, Sokoto
• Sultan Abdulrahman School of Health Technology, Gwadabawa
• College of Agriculture, Wurno

Catchment Area
The programme is open to interested candidates from the 23 Local Government Areas of the State (Constituting 70%), 25% from the Catchment States and 5% from other States.

Entry Requirements
Candidates aspiring to gain admission into the SSCE Remedial with UTME programme must have obtained at least two (2) credits and two (2) passes in his/her WAEC/NECO (SSEC), and or equivalent.

Entry Requirements into other Programmes of the College/other Tertiary Institutions
Admission into the other Programmes of the College and other State’s owned Intitutions is automatic provided a student successfully completes the SSCE Remedial with UTME Programme (and remedied the necessary O-Level deficiencies) to obtained the minimum number of credits required by Institution/Programme of his/her choice.
